Stafford Rugby club are working towards setting up and developing a girls division to be up and running in September 2018 and are on a recruitment drive to find girls that would be interested and giving it a go. Following the success of a joint Staffordshire RFU / SRUFC coaching session for school years 7 and 8 last Tuesday, Stafford Rugby club would like to offer a similar session to girls in Years 5 and 6. The tag rugby coaching session is open to all girls in years 5 and 6, and will run from 4pm to approximately 5.30 pm on this following Tuesday, 3rd July, at Stafford Rugby Club and will be led by Staffordshire RFU along with coaching staff from the club. GIRLS WILL NEED TO BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT DUE TO SHORT NOTICE FOR SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE STAFF. The girls should be dressed in appropriate outdoor PE kit and trainers. Numbers are not limited so the more girls we can get there, the better. We appreciate that several Stafford schools are smaller than others so may not have as large a number of girls interested, however any girls that are interested should be encouraged to come along as they can all play together. There will be a further event on 15th July, where the girls will be invited to a girl’s rugby festival at Stafford Rugby club. Further details of this will follow in due course.
